…to say that I am alive and well, despite my lack of posting this week. I’ve been diligently working to get my new design blog up and running (still a few days away) and moving this blog to my domain name.

St. Augustine

Last Friday, Kevin and I had the day off together, so we ventured north to St. Augustine, the oldest city in the U.S. We’ve been before, but I’ll never tire of it; there are so many different things to do. This trip, we started at Castillo de San Marcos, the fort that has been standing for over 300 years, and also where Ghost Adventures once filmed. Here are some of our better pictures from the fort.

We even got a weapons demonstration from volunteers who dress up in old military uniforms, which includes 28 pounds of wool! In the summer!

And I posed in between two chimneys.

Of course we had to visit the scariest room in the fort, where they imprisioned Indians and tortured them. It was the room once featured on Ghost Adventures, the Travel Channel show. The crew filming that show captured a presence in that room, and Kevin said he felt some energy while we were in there, but all I felt was hot.

A storm was brewing and thunder was rumbling in the distance as we toured the place, but it didn’t start sprinkling until we left the fort. We put the camera away after that, and due to the sprinkles and the busy sidewalks we had to manuever, we didn’t take any other pictures.

Our hope was to go on a ghost tour at night, but unfortunately it rained on and off all day, and a storm was due to hit about the time the ghost tour took off. Next trip to the Old City I would like to visit the lighthouse.

I’ve been on such a posting kick this month – hope you’ve enjoyed. Thanks to all my lovely readers for checking in I’m taking a break today – Kevin and I have the day off together (a true rarity) and we’re taking a day trip to St. Augustine. I can’t tell you how many times this video showed up on Twitter or in blogs this week. When I watched if for the first time on Wednesday, it had only been viewed 133,000 times. As of this morning, it has been viewed over 4.5 million times. It really doesn’t take long for things to go viral does it?
