YP Summit 2008

My first Young Professionals Summit ever and I FORGOT MY CAMERA!
So can you tell I’m new to taking pictures? No experienced photog would forget her camera at one of these events! It was one of those things where I was driving along en route to my hotel, tired from an already full week of work, [...]

The big reveal!

So I’ve been teasing you about this trip I have coming up…

It’s one of my favorite cities in the US. It’s full of history. It’s in the north east…home of my favorite football and baseball teams…

Yep, that’s Fenway Park and YES, I’M GOING TO BOSTON!
I’m really excited for this long weekend/birthday trip! (Thank you babe :)) I [...]

Coming soon…

I’m traveling for work this weekend – to the Young Professionals International Summit in Cocoa Beach, Florida! In fact, I’m already here; just checked into my hotel and I’m getting ready for tonight’s social with young professionals from across the country. Fun, huh?! I’m excited but I have a feeling I’ll be exhausted by the time I [...]

my (close) encounter with an olympic athlete

I came thisclose to meeting him last week.

Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte is from Port Orange, Florida (the city in which I reside) and trains at the Port Orange YMCA (the gym where I am a member) and was recently honored by the City of Daytona Beach for his achievements. I stopped by to represent my employer at [...]

looky looky!

I changed my blog layout! And discovered how to customize my header!
I really want to start taking more pictures…and in an effort to realize that goal, I promise to change my header semi-often. The current picture is the sunset in Key Largo on Christmas Eve 2007, my first Christmas without snow.

What’s next?

As mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, Sarah Palin’s administration charged women for their rape exams.
Just last week, it was also discovered that Palin spoke with a librarian about the possibility of banning some books. Apparently that librarian’s job was also threatened if she refused to cooperate (it didn’t pan out).
John McCain graduated 894th out of 899 [...]

Who do you look like?

I really cannot stop hearing that I look like Sandra Bullock. It usually comes out blatantly – “You know who you look like? Sandra Bullock!” and then I normally say thanks because well, that’s a huge compliment. Just look at her.

It started when I was 12 years old. I heard it for a couple years, on [...]

“Sorry, I’m busy…”

I just returned from my third after-work event this week. That’s right, I had after-hours events on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. And last weekend? Going away party. The weekend before that was Wedding Weekend #2, and before that was a trip back to the Midwest.
And next weekend? I’m traveling for work from Thursday [...]

don’t call me suzy homemaker…

Jen got me thinking about cooking with her last comment about all the food and cooking blogs she reads. It stemmed from her wheat and egg allergies last year, so she must be on a quest to find all new recipes. (By the way, I’m allergic to wheat as well, but fortunately, not enough to [...]

Confession.

I’m a blog junkie.
I can’t remember when it started – it couldn’t have been more than a few months ago – but reading blogs has become my favorite nightly hobby. Yes, the blogosphere is my new best friend. Is that bad?
I’m not sure which blog I found first, but if you look to the right of this [...]
